1 Ri&yogh;twis forsothe thou art, Lord; if Y
dispute with thee, nerthelatere ri&yogh;te
thingus I shal speke to thee. Whi the
weie of vnpitous men is maad welsum?
Well is to alle that the lawe breken, and
wickeli don?
2 Thou hast plauntid hem,

maken frute; ny&yogh; thou art to the mouth
of them, and `aferr fro the reenes of
them.
3 And, thou, Lord, hast knowe
me, seen me, and proued myn herte with
thee. Gedere them as a floc to slayn
sacrifise, and halewe them in the dai of

4 Hou longe weilen shal the erthe,
and the erbe of alle regioun shal be
dried, for the malice of men dwellende
in it? Wastid is the beste, and foul, for
thei seiden, He shal not seen oure laste.
5 If with `foot men rennende thou trauailedest,
hou shalt thou moun striue
with hors? whan forsothe in the lond of
pes siker thou `were not, what shuldest
thou do in the pride of Jordan?
6 For
whi and thi brethern and the hous of
thi fader, also thei fo&yogh;ten a&yogh;en thee, and
crieden after thee with pleyn vois; ne
leeue thou hem, whan thei shul speke
to thee goode thingus.
7 I haue forsake
myn hous, `Y lafte myn eritage; Y &yogh;af
my loued soule `in to the hondus of his
enemys.
8 Mad is to me myn eritage as
a leoun in the wode; he &yogh;af a&yogh;en me `a
vois, and therfore Y hatede it.
9 Whether
a brid of dyuers coloures myn eritage to
me? whether a brid died thur&yogh; out?
Cometh, beth gedered, alle &yogh;ee bestes of
the erthe; `haste &yogh;ee to deuouren.
10 Manye
shepperdis wasteden my vyne&yogh;erd, totreeden
my part, &yogh;auen my desirable porcioun
in to desert of wildernesse,
11 putten
it in to wasting, and it weilede vp on
me; with desolacioun desolat is al the

12 Vp on alle the weies of desert
camen alle the wasteres of the lond, for
the swerd of the Lord shal deuoure fro

of it; ther is not pes to alle flesh.
13 Thei sewen whete, and repeden thornes;
the erytage thei token, and to them it

wodnesse of the Lord.
14 These thingus
seith the Lord a&yogh;en alle my werste
ne&yogh;hebores, that touchen the eritage that
Y delide to my puple Irael, Lo! Y shal
pullen vp them fro ther lond, and the
hous of Juda Y shal pullen vp fro the
myddes of them.
15 And whan Y shal
pullen vp them, Y shal be turned, and
han merci of them; and Y shal bringe
them a&yogh;een, a man to his eritage, and a
man to his lond.
16 And it shal be, if
ta&yogh;t men lerneden the weies of my puple,
that thei swere in my name, Lyueth the
Lord, as thei ta&yogh;ten my puple to swern
in Baal, thei shuln be bild vp in the
myddel of my puple.
17 That if thei `schul
not heren, Y shal pulle awei that folc
with pulling awei and perdicioun, seith
the Lord.
