1 Lo! ther is not abreggid the hond of
the Lord, that sauen he mai not, ne
agreggid is his ere, that he ful out here
not;
2 but &yogh;oure wickidnesses deuydeden
betwe &yogh;ou and &yogh;oure God, and &yogh;oure
synnes hidden his face fro &yogh;ou, that he
ful out here not.
3 Forsothe &yogh;oure hondis
ben defoulid with blod, and &yogh;oure fingris
with wickidnesse; &yogh;oure lippes speeken
lesing, and &yogh;oure tunge wickenesse speketh.
4 Ther is not, that inwardly clepe ri&yogh;twisnesse,
ne ther is, that deme verreli;
but thei trosten in thing of no&yogh;t, and

speken vanytees; thei conceyueden trauaile,
and beeren wickidnesse.
5 The eiren
of edderes thei to-breeken, and the webbis
of an attercop thei wouen; who
shal eten of the eiren of hem, shal dien,
and that is hacchid, shal breken out in to
a cokatrice.
6 The webbis of hem shul not
ben in to clothing, ne thei shuln ben couered
with ther werkis; the werkus of
hem werkus vnprofitable, and the werc of
wickydnesse in ther hondus.
7 The feet
of them to euel rennen, and hee&yogh;en, that
thei sheden out innocent blod; the tho&yogh;tus
of them tho&yogh;tus vnprofitable; wastite and
to-treding in the weies of hem.
8 The
weie of pes thei knewen not, and ther
ys not dom in the goyngus of hem; the
pathis of them inbowid ben to them;
eche that tredeth in them, vnknowith pes.
9 For that longid oute is fro vs dom, and
shal not take vs ri&yogh;twisnesse; wee han
biden li&yogh;t, and lo! dercnessis; shynyng,
and in dercnesses wee han gon.
10 Wee han
gropid as blinde men the wall, and as
withoute e&yogh;en wee han felid; wee han
stumblid in mydday, as in dercnesses, in
mysti thingus, as deade.
11 Wee shul roren
as beres alle, and as culueres bethenkende
wee shul weilen; wee han biden dom,
and ther is not; helthe, and it is longid
awei fro vs.
12 Multeplied ben forsothe oure
wickenesses bifor thee, and oure synnes
answerden to vs; for oure hidous giltes
with vs, and oure wickenesses wee han
knowen,
13 to synnen, and to lien a&yogh;en the
Lord. And wee ben turned awei, that wee
go not bihynde the bac of oure God, that
wee speke wrong chalenge, and trespassing.
Wee conceyueden, and speeken of
herte wrdys of lesing;
14 and turned is
bacward dom, and ri&yogh;twisnesse aferr stod;
for fallen hath in the strete treuthe, and
equyte my&yogh;te not gon in.
15 For maad is

treuthe in to for&yogh;eting, and he that wente
awei fro euel, to prei was open. And the
Lord sa&yogh;, and euel aperede in his e&yogh;en,
for ther is not dom.
16 And God sa&yogh;, for
ther is not a man, and sorewede, for ther
is not that a&yogh;een come. And he shal
saue to hym his arm, and his ri&yogh;twisnesse
it shal confermen hym.
17 `He is clad
with ri&yogh;twisnesse as with an habirioun,
and the helm of helthe in his hed; `he
is clad with the clothingus of veniaunce,
and couered with the mantil of ielouste.
18 So to veniaunce as to &yogh;eelding of indignacioun
to his ferr enemys, and while to
his ny&yogh; enemys, to the ilis while he shal
&yogh;elde.
19 And dreden shul that ben fro the
west the name of the Lord, and that fro
the rising of the sunne his glorie; whan
he shal come as a violent flod, whom the
spirit of the Lord constreyneth.
20 And
comen shal the a&yogh;eenbiere of Sion, and to
them that turnen a&yogh;een fro wickidnesse
in Jacob, seith the Lord.
21 This my pes
couenaunt with them, seith the Lord;
My spirit that is in thee, and my wrdus
that I `haue set in thi mouth shul not
gon awei fro thi mouth, and fro the
mouth of thi sed, seith the Lord, fro
now and vnto euermore.
