Note return to page 1 Burnand's late and unusually elegant specimen of Victorian burlesque, performed at the Haymarket theatre in 1866, incorporates travesties of well-known passages from other Shakespeare plays as well as ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, which was at the time comparatively rarely seen.
