CHAP. II. 1 Thereof he inferreth, that good heede must be giuen to Christs doctrine: 9 And he setteth him out vnto vs euen as our brother in our flesh, that we may with a good will yeelde vp our selues wholy vnto him.

Wherefore note wee ought diligently to giue heede to the thinges which note wee haue heard, lest at any time we note runne out.

For if the note worde spoken by Angels was stedfast, and euery transgression, and disobedience receiued a iust recompence of reward,

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great saluation, note which at the first began to be preached

-- --

Christes excellencie. by the Lorde, and afterward was confirmed vnto vs by note them that heard him,

noteGod bearing witnes thereto, both with note signes and wonders, & with diuers miracles, and gifts of the holy Ghost, according to his owne wil?

noteFor he hath not put in subiection vnto the Angels the note world to come, whereof we speake.

noteBut note one in a certaine place witnessed, saying, note What is man, that thou shouldest bee mindefull of him? or the note sonne of man, that thou wouldest consider him?

Thou note madest him a litle inferiour to þe; Angels: thou crownedst him with note glory & honour, and hast set him aboue the workes of thine hands.

noteThou hast put all things in subiection vnder his feete. And in that he hath put all things in subiection vnder him, he left nothing that should not be subiect vnto him. noteBut we yet see not all things subdued vnto him,

noteBut we note see Iesus crowned with glory and honour, note which was made litle note inferiour to the Angels, note through the note suffering of death, that by Gods grace he might note taste death for note all men.

noteFor it became note him, for whome are all these thinges, and by whome are all these things, note seeing that hee brought many children vnto glory, note that he should consecrate the note Prince of their saluation through afflictions.

noteFor he that note sanctifieth, and they which are sanctified, are all of note one: wherefore he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Christ like vnto vs.

noteSaying, note I will declare thy Name vnto my brethren: in the middes of the Church will I sing praises to thee.

noteAnd againe, note I will put my note trust in him. And againe, note note Beholde, here am I, and the children which God hath giuen me.

Forasmuch then as the children are note partakers of flesh and blood, he also himselfe likewise tooke part with them, that hee might destroye note through death, him that had the note power of death, that is the note deuil,

And that he might deliuer all them, which for feare of note death were all their life time subiect to bondage.

noteFor he in no sort tooke on him the note Angels nature, but hee tooke on him the note seede of Abraham.

noteWherefore in note all things it behoued him to be made like vnto his brethren, that hee might be note mercifull, and a note faithfull hie Priest in things concerning God, that he might make reconciliation for the sinnes of the people.

For in that he suffered, and was note tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
