1 Forsoth `ther weren in the chirche that
was at Antioche, `prophetis and doctours,
in whiche Barnabas, and Symound, that

prophete, Jew, to whom the name was

heere the word of God.

Saul, which `and Poul, fulfillid with the
Hooly Gost, biholdynge into him, seide,

fro Pafum Poul hadde go by boot, and

Pergen of Pamfili; forsoth John departinge

sones of the kynde of Abraham, and that

32 And we schewen

and in the secunde salm it is writun,
Thou art my sone, to day I gendride thee.
34 Forsoth that he a&yogh;en reyside him fro deede
men, now `no more to turnynge into
corupcioun, thus he seith, For I schal
&yogh;yue to &yogh;ou the hooly trewe thingis of
Dauith.
35 And therfore and on another
stide he seith, Thou schalt not &yogh;yue thin
hooli for to se corupcioun.
36 Forsoth Dauith
in his generacioun, whanne he hadde
mynystrid to the wille of God, slepte, `or
deiede, and is putt to his fadris, and sy&yogh;
corupcioun;
37 sothli he whom God reiside
fro deede men, sy&yogh; not corupcioun.
38 Therfore,
men bretheren, be it knowun to &yogh;ou,
for by him remyssioun of synnes is told
to &yogh;ou, fro alle synnes, of the whiche &yogh;e
my&yogh;ten not be iustified in the lawe of
Moyses.
39 In this ech man that bileueth,
is iustified.
40 Therfore se &yogh;e, that it come
not to &yogh;ou, that is aboue seid in prophetis,
`Se &yogh;e,
41 dispiseris, and wondre &yogh;e,
and be &yogh;e scaterid a brood; for I worche
a work in &yogh;oure daies, a werk that &yogh;e

preieden, that `another suynge saboth thei

whanne the synagoge was left, manye of

sueden Poul and Barnabas; the whiche
`spekinge, softli counceiliden hem, that
thei schulden dwelle in the grace of God.
44 Sothly in saboth suynge almoost al the
cyte cam to gidere, for to heere the word
of God.
45 Forsoth Jewis seynge the cumpanyes
of peple, ben fulfillid with enuye,
and a&yogh;en seiden thes thingis that weren
seid of Poul, blasphemynge.
46 Thanne Poul
and Barnabas stedefastly seyden, To &yogh;ou
it bihofte first for to speke the word of
God; but for &yogh;e putten it awey, and han
demed vs vnworthi of euere lasting lyf,
lo! we turnen to gidere to hethene men.
47 Forsothe so the Lord comaundide vs, I
haue putt thee into li&yogh;t to hethene men,
that thou be into heelthe `til to the vtmoste
of erthe.
48 Sothli hethen men
heeringe ioyeden, and glorifieden the
word of the Lord; and bileuyden, how
manye euere weren byfore ordeyned to
euere lastyng lyf.
49 Forsoth the word of
the Lord was ferr sowun by al the cuntree.
50 Sothli Jewis stiredyn religiouse
wymmen, and honest, and the firste men
of the cytee, and stiriden persecucioun
into Poul and Barnabas, and castiden
hem out of her cuntrees.
51 And thei, the
powdir of feet `shakun a wey into hem,
camen to Iconye.
52 And disciplis weren
fulfillid with ioye and the Hooly Gost.
