1   And the Lord spak to Moyses, seiynge, Comaund to the sones of Yrael, 2   that thei bryngen to thee oyle of olyues, moost

pure, and bry&yogh;t, to the lanternes to ben 3   tende contynueli with oute the veyle of witnessynge, in the tabernacle of the boond of pees; and Aaron shal sette hem fro euen vnto morwen before the Lord, thur&yogh; heriynge and ryte perpetuel in &yogh;oure generaciouns; 4   vpon the moost clene candilstik thei shulen be sett euermore in the si&yogh;t of the Lord. 5   Thow shalt take forsothe tried floure, and thow shalt baak of it twelue looues, the whiche echon shal haue two dymes, 6   of whom thou shalt sette syx anentis other six, vpon the moost clene bord before the Lord; 7   and thow shalt putt on hem ensence moost bri&yogh;t, that the breed be into mynde of the offrynge of the Lord; 8   bi eche holi day thei shulen be chaungid before the Lord, takne of the sones of Yrael thur&yogh; euerlastynge boond of pees; 9   and thei shulen be of Aaron and his sones, that thei eten hem in holy place, for holy of halowes it is, of the sacrifices of the Lord, thur&yogh; perpetuel ri&yogh;t. 10   Loo! forsothe a sone goon out of a womman of Yrael, that beer of an Egipcyen man, amonge the sones of Yrael, hath streuen in tentis with a man of Yrael, 11   and whanne he hadde blasfemyd the name of the Lord, and hadde cursid to hym, is brou&yogh;t forthe to Moyses; and the moder of hym was clepid Salumyth, the dou&yogh;ter of Dabry, of the lynage of Dan; 12   and thei puttiden hym in to prisoun, to the tyme that thei knewen what the Lord comaundide. 13   The which spak to Moyses, 14   seiynge, Leed thow out the blasfeme out of the tentis, and putt alle that herden her hoonden vpon his heed, and al the puple stone hym. 15   And to the sones of Yrael thou shalt speke, The man that cursith to his God, shal bere his synne, 16   and he that blasfemeth the name of the Lord, thur&yogh; deth die he; al the

multitude of the puple with stonus shal throwe hym down; whether he were cyteseyn or pilgrym that blasfemeth the name of the Lord, thur&yogh; deth dye he. 17   He that smytith and sleeth a man, thur&yogh; deth die he; 18   he that smyteth a beeste, &yogh;eeld he another of the same kynde, that is, lijf for lijf. 19   He that wrongfuli &yogh;yueth a wemme to eny of his cyteseyns, as he hath doon, so be it do to hym; 20   brusur for brusur, eye for eye, tooth for tooth he shal &yogh;eelde; what maner of wemme he wrongfuli &yogh;yueth, sichon be he constreyned to suffre. 21   He that smytith a beeste, &yogh;eeld he another; he that smytith a man, be he punyshid. 22   Euen doom be there among &yogh;ow, whether pilgrime or cyteseyn synne, for I am the Lord &yogh;oure God. 23   And Moyses spak to the sones of Yrael, and thei brou&yogh;ten hym forthe that blasphemede out of the tentis, and thei beren hym down with stonus. And the sones of Yrael diden, as the Lord comaundide to Moyses.
