1 And wenten ny&yogh; alle princes of fi&yogh;teres,
and Johanna, sone of Carae, and Jeconye,
the sone of Josie, and the tother
comun, fro litil vnto myche;
2 and seiden
to Jeremye, the profete, Falle oure orisoun
in thi si&yogh;t, and pre&yogh;e thou for vs to
the Lord thi God, for alle these remnauns;
for wee ben laft fewe of manye,
as thin e&yogh;en biholden vs;
3 and telle to
vs the Lord thi God the weie, bi whiche
wee go, and the wrd that wee do.
4 Seide
forsothe to them Jeremye, the profete, I
haue herd; lo! Y pre&yogh;e to the Lord oure
God, after alle &yogh;oure wrdus; eche wrd,
what euere he shal answere to me, Y
shal shewe to &yogh;ou, ne Y shal hile &yogh;ou
any thing.
5 And thei seiden to Jeremye,
Be the lord among vs witnesse of treuthe
and of feith; and if not after eche wrd
in whiche shal sende thee thi God to vs,
so wee shal do, whether good or euel.
6 To
the vois of the Lord oure God, to whom
wee sende thee, wee shul obeshe, that wel
be to vs, whan wee shul here the vois of
the Lord oure God.
7 Whan forsothe fulfild
weren ten da&yogh;es, don is the wrd of
the Lord to Jeremye.
8 And he clepide
Johannan, the sone of Carae, and alle

9 and seide to them, These
thingus seith the Lord God of Irael, to
whom &yogh;ee han sente me, that Y shulde

10 If restende &yogh;ee schulen abide in
this lond, I shal bilde &yogh;ou vp, and not
destro&yogh;en; Y shal plaunte, and not pulle
vp; now forsothe Y am plesid vpon the
euel that Y dide to &yogh;ou.
11 Wileth not
drede fro the face of the king of Babiloyne,
whom &yogh;ee aferd dreden; wileth
not dreden hym, seith the Lord, for with
&yogh;ou Y am, that Y make &yogh;ou saf, and delyuere
fro his hond.
12 And Y shal &yogh;yue
to &yogh;ou mercies, and han reuthe of &yogh;ou,
and to dwelle &yogh;ou Y shal make in &yogh;oure
lond.
13 If forsothe &yogh;ee shul sei, Wee shul
not dwelle in this lond, ne wee shul here
the vois of the Lord oure God,
14 seiende,
Nai, but to the lond of Egipt wee shul
go, where wee shul not see bataile, and
noise of trumpe wee shul not heren, and
hunger wee shul not suffre, and there
wee shul dwelle;
15 for that now hereth the
wrd of the Lord, &yogh;ee remnaunt of Juda.
These thingus seith the Lord of ostus,
God of Irael, If &yogh;ee shul sette &yogh;oure face,
that &yogh;ee go in to Egipt, and &yogh;ee shul gon
in,
16 that there &yogh;ee dwelle, swerd that &yogh;ee
drede shal there take &yogh;ou in the lond of
Egipt, and hunger for whiche &yogh;ee be
besy shal cleue to &yogh;ou in Egipt; and there
&yogh;ee shul die.
17 And alle the men that setteden
ther face, that they go in to Egipt,
and dwelle there, shul die with swerd,
and hunger, and pestilence; no man of
hem shal lefe, ne scape fro the face of
the euel, that I shal bringe to vp on hem.
18 For these thingus seith the Lord of ostus,
God of Irael, As &yogh;oten out is `my woodnesse
and myn indignacioun vp on the
dwelleres of Jerusalem, so shal be &yogh;oten
out myn indignacioun vpon &yogh;ou, whan

&yogh;ee shul go in to Egipt; and &yogh;ee shul
ben `in to an oth of ri&yogh;t, and in to stoneyng,
and in to cursing, and in to repref;
and &yogh;ee shul no more see this place.
19 The
wrd of the Lord vp on &yogh;ou, &yogh;ee remnauns
of Juda; wileth not go in to
Egipt; witende &yogh;ee shul wite, that a&yogh;enwitnessid
Y haue to &yogh;ou this day;
20 for &yogh;ee
han disceyued &yogh;oure soules, &yogh;ee forsothe
han sente me to the Lord &yogh;oure God,
seiende, Pre&yogh;e thou for vs to the Lord
oure God, and after alle thingis what
euere shal sei to thee the Lord oure God,
so tel to vs, and wee shul don.
21 And Y
haue told to &yogh;ou to day, and &yogh;ee han
not herde the vois of the Lord oure God,
vpon alle thingus for whiche he sente me
to &yogh;ou.
22 Now therfore witende &yogh;ee shul
wite, for with swerd, and hunger, and
pestilence &yogh;ee shul die, in the place to
whiche &yogh;ee wolde go in, that &yogh;ee dwelle
there.
