seide to them, Cometh to Godolie, sone of Aicham; 7   the whiche whanne hadden comen to the myddel of the cite, sloo&yogh; hem Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, aboute the myddel of the lake, he and the men that weren with hym. 8   Ten men forsothe ben founden among hem, that seiden to Ismael, Wile thou not slen vs, for wee han tresor in the feld, of whete, and of barly, and of oile, and of hony. And he cesede, and slo&yogh; hem not with ther brethern. 9   The lake forsothe in to whiche Ismael thre&yogh; alle the careynus of the men, whom he smot for Godolie, it is whiche made Asa the king for Basa, the king of Irael; Ismael, the sone of Natanye, `fulfilde it with slayn men. 10   And Ismael bro&yogh;te caitif alle the relikis of the puple, that weren in Masfath, the do&yogh;tris of the king, and al the puple that abiden in Masfath, whom Nabusardan, prince of the chyualrie, hadde betake to Godolie, sone of Aicham. And Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, toc them, and wente awei, that he shulde go to the sonus of Amon. 11   Herde forsothe Johanna, the sone of Carae, and alle the princes of fi&yogh;teres, that weren with hym, al the euel that don hadde Ismael, the sone of Natanye. 12   And taken to alle the men, thei wente forth, that thei schuld fi&yogh;te a&yogh;en Ismael, the sone of Natanye; and founden hym at manye watris, that ben in Gabaon. 13   And whan seen hadde al the puple, that was with Ismael, Johannan, sone of Carae, and al the princes of fi&yogh;teres, that weren with hym, gladeden. 14   And turned a&yogh;een is al the puple, that Ismael hadde taken in Masfath; and turned a&yogh;een, it &yogh;ide awei to Johannan, the sone of Carae. 15   Ismael forsothe, the sone of Nathanye, flei&yogh; with ei&yogh;te men fro the face of Johanna, and &yogh;ide awei to the sonus of Amon. 16   Toc thanne Johanna, the sone of Carae, and alle the princes fi&yogh;teres, that weren with hym,

al the remnaunt of the comun, that he hadde bro&yogh;t a&yogh;een fro Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, fro Masfa, aftir that he hadde smyte Godolie, sone of Aicham, stronge men to bataile, and wymmen, and childer, and geldingus, that he hadde bro&yogh;t a&yogh;een fro Gabaon. 17   And thei wenten awei, and seten pilgrimagende in Canaan, that is byside Bethlem, that thei shulde go, 18   and weende in to Egipt fro the face of Caldeis; forsothe thei dredden hem, for smyten hadde Ismael, sone of Natanye, Godolie, sone of Aicham, whom biforn hadde put the king of Babiloyne in the lond of Juda.
