CAP. XXXV.
1 The wrd that is do to Jeremye fro the
Lord, in the da&yogh;es of Joachym, sone of
Josie,
2 king of Juda, seiende, Go to the
hous of Rechabitus, and spec to them;
and thou shalt bringe them in to the
hous of the Lord, in to o pryue chaumbre
of the tresores, and thou shalt &yogh;yue them
to drinke wyn.
3 And Y toc Jeconye, sone
of Jeremye, sone of Absenye, and his
brethern, and alle his sonus, and al the
hous of Rechabitis.
4 And I bro&yogh;te them
in to the hous of the Lord, to the tresorie

hous of the sonus of Eman, sone of Jezedelie,
man of God; that was biside the
tresorie hous of the princes, vp on the
tresor of Maasie, sone of Sellum, that
was kepere of the vestiarie.
5 And Y sette
bifor the sonus of the hous of Recabitis
cuppis ful of wyn, and chalices; and Y
seide to them, Drinketh wyn.
6 The whiche
answerden, Wee shul not drinke wyn;
for Jonadab, the sone of Rechab, oure fader,
comaundide to vs, seiende, &YOGH;ee shul
not drinke wyn, &yogh;ee and &yogh;oure sonus, in
to euermor;
7 and hous &yogh;ee shul not bilde,
and sed &yogh;ee shul not sowe, and vyne &yogh;ee
shul not plaunte, ne han, but in tabernacles
&yogh;ee shul dwelle alle &yogh;oure da&yogh;es,
that &yogh;ee lyue manye da&yogh;es vp on the face
of the lond, in whiche &yogh;ee pilgrimagen.
8 Wee han obeshid therfore to the vois of
Jonadab, sone of Rechab, oure fader, in
alle thingus that he comaundide to vs; so
that wee drunke not wyn alle oure da&yogh;es,
and wee, and oure wyues, sonus, and oure
do&yogh;tris;
9 and wee bilde not vp houses to
dwelle, and vyne, and feld, and sed wee
hadde not;
10 but we dwelleden in tabernacles,
and obeisaunt wee weren, after alle
thingus that comaundede to vs Jonadab,
oure fader.
11 Whan forsothe shulde ste&yogh;en
vp Nabugodonosor, king of Babiloyne, to
oure lond, wee seiden, Cometh, and go
wee in to Jerusalem, fro the face of the
ost of Caldeis, and fro the face of the ost
of Cirie; and we dwelten in Jerusalem.
12 And don is the wrd of the Lord to Jeremye,
seiende,
13 These thingus seith the
Lord of ostus, God of Irael, Go, and sei
to the men of Juda, and to the dwelleres
of Jerusalem, Whether &yogh;ee shul not take
disciplyne, that &yogh;ee obeshe to my wrdus,
seith the Lord?
14 Hadden the maistrie the
wrdus of Jonadab, sone of Recab, whiche
he comaundide to his sonus, that thei
shulde not drinke wyn; and thei drunke
not, vnto this dai; for thei obesheden
to the heste of ther fader; lo! forsothe

Y spac to &yogh;ou, fro erly risende, and spekende,
and &yogh;ee obesheden not to me.
15 And
Y sente to &yogh;ou alle my seruauns profetis,
Y risende erly, and sendende, and
seiende, Beth conuertid, eche fro his werst
wey, and goode maketh &yogh;oure studies, and
wileth not folewe alien godis, ne herien
hem, and &yogh;ee shul dwelle in the lond, that
Y &yogh;af to &yogh;ou, and to &yogh;oure fadris; and &yogh;ee
boweden not in &yogh;oure ere, ne herden me.
16 Fastneden therfore the sonus of Jonadab,
sone of Recab, the heste of ther fader,
that he hadde comaundid to them; this
puple forsothe obeshede not to me.
17 Therfore
these thingus seith the Lord of ostus,
God of Irael, Lo! Y shal bringe vp on
Juda, and vp on alle dwelleres of Jerusalem,
al the tormenting that Y spac
a&yogh;en hem, and thei herden not; I clepede
hem, and thei answerden not to me.
18 To
the hous forsothe of Recabitis seide Jeremye,
These thingus seith the Lord of
ostus, God of Irael, For thi that &yogh;ee obesheden
to the heste of Jonadab, &yogh;oure
fader, and kepten alle his hestus, and
diden alle thingus, that he comaundide to
&yogh;ou;
19 therfore these thingus seith the Lord
of ostus, God of Irael, Ther shal not faile
a man of the stoc of Jonadab, sone of
Recab, stondende in my si&yogh;t alle da&yogh;es.
