1 The Lord forsothe recordide of Noe, and
of alle hauynge soulis, and of alle iumentis,
that weren with hym in the arke;
and he brou&yogh;te to a spirit vpon the erthe.
2 And the watris ben lessid, and the wellys
of the see and the goterys of heuene ben
closid, and reynes fro heuene ben forfendid.
3 And the wateres fro the erthe
ben turned a&yogh;en, goynge and a&yogh;en goynge;
and thei bigunnen to be maad lesse after
an hundrid and fifty daies.
4 And the arke
restide the seuenthe moneth, the seuene
and twentith day of the moneth, vpon
the mowntis of Armonye.
5 And forsothe
the watres &yogh;eden and decreesseden vnto
the tenthe moneth, the tenthe forsothe
moneth, the firste day of the moneth,
aperyden the coppis of the hillis.
6 And
whan fourti dayes weren passid, Noe,
openynge the wyndow of his arke the
which he made,
7 sente out a crow, the
which &yogh;ede out, and turnede not a&yogh;en to
the tyme that watris vpon the erthe weren

8 Forsothe he sente out a culuer
after hym, that he my&yogh;te se, if now
hadden sesyd waterys vpon the face of
the erthe;
9 the which whan he had not
foundun where his foot my&yogh;te rest, is
turned a&yogh;en to him into the arke, watres
forsothe weren vpon al the erthe; and he
straw&yogh;te out his honde, and it takun
putte into the erke.
10 Forsothe forthermore
other seuene daies abiden, eftsones
he lete out of the arke a culuer;
11 and she
come to hym at euen, berynge a brawnche
of olyue with grene leeues in hir mouthe.
Than Noe vndirstode that wateres hadden
cesyd vpon erthe;
12 and he abode neuer the
later other seuene daies, and he sente out
a culuer, the which is no more turned
a&yogh;en to hym.
13 Thanne in the sixte hundryd
&yogh;eer and oon of the lijf of Noe, the
first moneth, the first day of the moneth,
ben lessid the waterys vpon erthe; and
Noe, openynge the roof of his arke, bihelde
and saw&yogh; that `al out dried was the
ouermost of the erthe.
14 The secounde
moneth, the seuene and twentith day of
the moneth, the erthe is maad drye.
15 The
Lord forsothe spake to Noe,
16 seiynge, Go
out of the arke, thow, and thi wijf, thi
children, and the wyues of thi children
with thee;
17 and alle hauynge soules that
ben with thee of al flehs, bothe in volatylis,
and in beestis, and in alle crepynge
that crepen vpon the erthe, lede out with
thee; and go &yogh;e ynne vpon the erthe,
grow &yogh;e, and be &yogh;e multiplied vpon it.
18 Thanne Noe &yogh;ede out, and his children,
and his wijf, and the wyues of his children
with hym;
19 but and alle hauynge
soules, iumentis, and crepynge that
crepen vpon the erthe, aftir her propre
kynde, ben gon out of the arke.
20 Noe
forsothe bildide an auter to the Lord,
and takinge of alle clene beestis and
fowlis, offryde brent sacrifices vpon the
auter.
21 And the Lord smellid a smel of

swetnes, and seide to hym, I shal no more
curse to the erthe for men, the witt forsothe
and the thou&yogh;t of mannus herte ben
redi in to yuel fro his tyme of waxyng;
therfore I shal smyte no more ech soule
lyuynge as Y haue don;
22 alle the daies of
the erthe, seed and ripe, coold and hete,
somer and wynter, ny&yogh;t and day, shulen
not rest.
