1 God with the ri&yogh;t hond foormede man;
and after his ymage made hym.
2 And
eft turnede hym in to it; and after hymself
clothide hym with vertue.
3 Noumbre
of da&yogh;es and time he &yogh;af to hym; and
&yogh;af to hym power of them that ben vpon
erthe.
4 He putte the drede of hym vpon
alle flesh, and lordshipide of bestes and
of foules.
5 He foormede of hym helpe lic
to hymself; counseil, and tunge, and e&yogh;en,
and eren, and herte, he &yogh;af to them, of
thenking out; and the discyplyne of vnderstonding
fulfilde them.
6 He foormede
to them kunnyng of the spirit, bi wit he
fulfilde the herte of hem; and eueles
and goodis he shewide to them.
7 He
putte the e&yogh;e of hem vpon the hertes of
hem, to shewen to them the grete thingus
of his werkis,
8 that the name of his halewing
thei preise togidere; and to glorien
in the merueilous thingus of hym,
that thei telle out the grete thyngus of
his werkis.
9 He addede to them disciplyne;
and the lawe of lif he eritagede
them.
10 Euerlastende testament he sette
with them; and ri&yogh;twisnesse and his
domes he shewide to them.
11 And the
grete thingus of his wrshipe the e&yogh;e of
hem sa&yogh;, and the wrshipe of vois herden
the eres of hem; and he seide to them,
Taketh heed fro alle wicke thing.
12 And
he comaundide to them, to eche of his
ne&yogh;hebore.
13 The weies of hem biforn hym
ben euermor; and thei ben not hid fro
the e&yogh;en of hym.
14 In to eche folc of kinde
he beforn sette a gouernour;
15 and Irael
the part of God is mad open.
16 And alle
the werkes of hem as the sunne in the
si&yogh;te of God; and the e&yogh;en of hym with
oute cesing biholdende in the weies of
hem.
17 The testamentis ben not hid for

the wickidnesse of hem; and al the

18 The almes deede of a man as a litil sac
with hym, and the grace of man as the
e&yogh;e appil it shal kepen;
19 and aftirward it
shal rise a&yogh;een, and &yogh;elde to them &yogh;elding,
to eche in to the hed of hem; and
turnen in to the lowere partus of erthe.
20 To men doende penaunce forsothe he
&yogh;af the weie of ri&yogh;twisnesse, and confermede
men failende to suffren, and ordeynede
to them the lot of treuthe.
21 Turne thou to the Lord, and lef thi
synnes;
22 pre&yogh;e thou bifor the face of the
Lord, and make lasse the occasiouns of
giltis.
23 Turne a&yogh;een to the Lord, and
turne awei fro thin vnri&yogh;twisnesse, and
myche hate thou cursing.
24 And knowe
thou ri&yogh;twisnesses, and the domes of
God; and stond in the lot of putting
forth, and of orisoun of the hei&yogh;est God.
25 `In to the partes go of the hoeli world,
with men on lyue, `and &yogh;yuyng knouleching
to God.
26 Ne fast abide thou in
the errour of vnpitous men. Bifor deth
kuouleche; fro the deade as no&yogh;t persheth
confessioun.
27 Thou shalt knoulechen
lyuende, lyuende and hoel thou shalt
knouleche, and preisen God; and glorien
in the mercy doyngus of hym.
28 Hou gret
the merci of God, and the mytigacioun, `or
helpe,
29 of hym to men conuertende to hym.
Ne forsothe alle thingus mown ben in
men; for the sone of man is not vndeadly,
and `in to vanyte of malice thei pleseden.
30 What more cleer than the sunne? and
this shall faile; or what wers than that
flesh tho&yogh;te out, and blod? and that shal
ben vndernomen.
31 The vertue of the
hei&yogh;nesse of heuene he biholdith; and
alle men erthe and asken.
