1 This hym, that first is foormed of God,
the fader of the roundnesse of erthis,
whan alone he was foormed, kepte.
2 And
ladde hym out fro his gilte, and bro&yogh;te
hym out of the slym of erthe, and &yogh;af
to hym vertue of hauynge alle thingus.
3 Fro this as the vnri&yogh;twise wente awei in
his wrathe, bi the wrathe of mansla&yogh;ter
pershede fraternyte.
4 For the whiche
whan water shulde don awei the erthe,
he helede eftsoone bi wisdam; bi the dispisable
tree gouernende the ri&yogh;twis man.
5 This and in the consenting of pride, whan
naciouns rereden hemself, knew the ri&yogh;twis,
and kepte withoute blame to God;
and in the sones gret merci kepte.
6 This
the ri&yogh;twis fro the pershende vnpitous
men deliuerede fleende, fijr descendende
in to the regioun of fiue citees.
7 To the
whiche, in to the witnessing of shreudenesse,
the desert erthe is knowen ful of
smoking, and in certeyn time the trees
hauende frutes; and of the mysbeleeued
soule the mynde stondende is the foormyng
of salt.
8 Forsothe passende biside
wisdam, not onli in that ben slyden, that
thei vnknowen gode thingis, but and of
ther vnwisdam thei han laft to men
mynde, that in tho thingus, that thei
synneden, thei my&yogh;ten not lurken.
9 Wisdam
forsothe them, that it kepen, al aboute
fro sorewes shal delyuere.
10 This forsothe
the ferr fugitif, or fleynge ri&yogh;twis fro
the wrathe of the brother, ladde awei bi

ri&yogh;t weies; and shewede to hym the kingdam
of God, and &yogh;af to hym the kunnyng
of seyntis; it honestede hym in
trauailes, and fulfilde the trauailes of
hym.
11 In the gile of the men comende
aboute to hym, it was ny&yogh;, and honest
made hym.
12 It kepte hym fro enemys,
and fro desceyueres defendide hym; and
a strong strif it &yogh;af to hym, that he
shulde ouercome, and wite, for of alle
thingis the my&yogh;tiere is wisdam.
13 This
this olde ri&yogh;twis man forsoc not, but fro
synneres deliuerede hym; and it descendide
with hym in to the dich;
14 and in
bondis forsoc not hym, to the time that
it shulde bringe to hym the dignete of
the reume, and my&yogh;t a&yogh;en hem that hym
thresteden doun; and lieres he shewide,
that defouleden hym, and he &yogh;af to hym
euere lastende clernesse.
15 This the ri&yogh;twis
puple, and hoely withoute blame,
delyuerede fro naciouns, that it opresseden.
16 It entride in to the soule of the
seruaunt of God, and stod a&yogh;en grisful
kingus, in grete wndris and signes.
17 And
it &yogh;eeld to the ri&yogh;twis men the meede of
ther trauailes, and bro&yogh;te them thennes
in a merueylous weie; and it was to
them in the coueryng of the day, and in
li&yogh;t of sterres bi the ny&yogh;t.
18 And he bar
them ouer thur&yogh; the rede se; and he
ouercariede them thur&yogh; ful myche water.
19 The enemys forsothe of hem he drenchide
in the se; and fro the depnesse of
helle he ladde them out. Therfore ri&yogh;twis
men token awei the spoiles of vnpitous
men;
20 and hee&yogh;li sungen, Lord, thin
holi name, and thin hond ouercomere thei
preiseden togidere.
21 For wisdam openede
the mouth of doumbe men, and the
