1 Vpon that mych dradde myn herte,
and is moued out fro his place.
2 He
shal heren heringe in gastnesse of his
vois, and the soun goende out of the
mouth of hym.
3 Ouer alle heuenys he beholdeth;
and the li&yogh;t of hym vp on the
termes of the erthe.
4 After hym shal rore
sounyng, he shal thunder with the vois
of his mykilnesse; and he shal not ben
enserchid, whan shal ben herd the vois
of hym.
5 God shal thundre in his vois
merueilously, that doth grete thingus and
vnserchable.
6 That comaundeth to the
snow&yogh;, that it `come doun vp on erthe,
and to reynes of winter, and to wederes
of his strengthe.
7 That marketh in the
hond of alle men, that alle men arowe
shulden knowen his werkis.
8 The beste
shal go in to his lurking place, and in his
dich he shal abide.
9 Fro the innermor
shal gon out tempest, and fro the north
sterre cold.
10 God blowende, waxeth togidere
frost; and eft moost wide ben
shed out watris.
11 Whete desirith cloudis;
and cloudis sprengen ther li&yogh;t.
12 That gon
alle thingus bi enuyroun, whider euere
thou gost, the wil of the gouernere shal

lede, to alle thingus that he shal comaunde
to them vp on the face of the roundnesse
of erthis;
13 or in o lynage, or in his
erthe, or in what euere place of his mercy
hem he shal comaunde to be founde.
14 Hercne these thingus, Job; and stond,
and behold the merueilis of God.
15 Whether
thou wost, whan God comaundide to
reynes, that thei shulden shewe the li&yogh;t of
the cloudis of hym?
16 Whether thou hast
knowen the sties of the cloudis, grete and
parfit kunnyngis?
17 Whether thi clothis
ben not hote, whan the erthe shal be
blowe thur&yogh; with the south?
18 Thou perauenture
with hym forgedist heuenes,
that most sad, as with bras, ben foundid.
19 Shew&yogh; to vs, what wee seyn to hym; wee
forsothe ben wrappid in dercnessis.
20 Who
shal telle to hym, that I speke? also if a
man shal speke, he shal be deuourid.
21 And now thei see not li&yogh;t; feerli the eir
shal be wro&yogh;t togidere in to cloudis, and
ouergoende wind shal driue them.
22 Fro
the north shal come gold, and fro God
dredful preising.
23 Wrthili hym finde wee
moun not; gret in strengthe, and dom,
and ri&yogh;twisnesse, that he mai not be told
out.
24 Therfore men shul dreden hym; and
alle that to themself ben sen to be wise,
shuln not ben hardy to beholden.
