CAP. XXVII.

1   Of fyue and twenty &yogh;eer was Joathan, whanne he hadde begunne to regnen, and sixteen &yogh;eer he regnede in Jerusalem; name of his moder Jerusa, the dou&yogh;ter of Sadoch. 2   And he dide that was ri&yogh;t before the Lord, aftir alle thingus that Ozias, his fadir, hadde don; out take that he wente not in to the temple of the Lord, and &yogh;it the puple trespasside. 3   He bild up the hee&yogh; &yogh;ate of the hous of the Lord, and in the wal of Ophel many thingus maad; 4   and citees bilde in the hillis of Juda, and in hee&yogh; wodis, castels, and toures. 5   And he fau&yogh;t a&yogh;einus the kyng of the sonus of Amon, and ouercame hym; and the sonus of Amon &yogh;euen to hym in that tyme an hundrith talentis of syluer, and tenn thousand choris of barly, and as fele of whete; thes thingus &yogh;euen to hym the sonus of Amon the secound &yogh;eer and the thrid. 6   And Joathan is strengthed,
