1 Therefore when the Lord knew, note the pharisees had
heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than
John,
2 (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but his
disciples,
3 ) He left Judea, and departed again into note Galilee.
4 And as He must pass through the country of Samaria,
He note came to a note Samaritan city called Sichar,

near the piece of ground which Jacob gave to his son
Joseph.
6 And Jacob's well was there. Now Jesus was
tired with his journey, and note sat down at the well: and
it was about the note sixth hour of the day,
7 when a woman
of Samaria note coming to draw water, Jesus saith unto
her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone
away to the city to buy food.) note
9 But the Samaritan note
saith unto Him, How is it that thou who art a Jew
askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan note? for the Jews
have no friendly intercourse with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus
answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of
God, and who it is that saith unto thee, Give me to
drink; thou wouldst have asked of Him, and He would
have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto
Him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the
well is deep: whence then hast thou the living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us
the well, and drank of it himself, and his note children,
and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever
drinketh of this water, will thirst again;
14 but he
that drinketh of the water which I shall give him, shall
never thirst: but the water, which I shall give him,
will be in him a fountain of water springing up unto

eternal life.
15 The woman saith unto Him, Sir, give me
this water, that I may not thirst, nor come hither to
draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go call thine husband,
and come hither.
17 The woman answered, note I have no
husband. Jesus saith unto her, Thou hast said right,
note I have no husband:
18 for thou hast had five husbands;
and he, whom thou now hast, is not thy husband: this
thou hast said true.
19 The woman saith unto Him, Sir,
I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped
on this mountain, and ye say that in Jerusalem
is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith
unto her, Woman, believe me, note the time is coming,
when ye shall worship the Father neither on this mountain
nor in Jerusalem.
22 Ye worship ye know not what;
but we worship what we know: for salvation is from the
Jews.
23 But the time is coming, and now is, when the
true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and
truth: for the Father note requireth such worshippers of
Him.
24 God is a spirit, and they that worship Him, must
worship in spirit and truth.
25 Then saith the woman unto
Him, I know that the Messiah, note that is to say the Christ,
is coming; and when He comes, He will note tell us all
things.
26 Jesus saith unto her, I, who am talking to thee,
am He.
27 And upon this came his disciples and wondered that
He talked with the woman: ( note though none of them said,
What dost thou seek? or, Why dost thou talk with
her?)
28 therefore the woman left her water-pot, and went
away into the city,
29 and saith to the note people, Come, see
a man who hath told me all that ever I did; is not this
the note Christ?
30 They therefore went out of the city, and
came to Him.
31 In the mean time his disciples note addressed Him, saying,
Master, eat.
32 But He said unto them, I have food to eat,
which ye know not of.
33 Therefore the disciples said one
to another, Hath any one brought Him aught to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My food is to do the will of Him
that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Do not ye say, note
it is yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold,
note lift up your eyes, and see the fields, note they are already

white for harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages,
and gathereth the fruit together unto life eternal: that
both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice
together;
37 for herein the saying is note verified, that one soweth,
and another reapeth,
38 in as much as I have sent you
to reap that on which ye have not laboured: others have
laboured, and ye are entered into their labors.
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on
Him, because of note what the woman said, testifying, note He
told me all that ever I did.
40 Therefore when the Samaritans
came to Him, they desired Him to stay with them:
and He staid there two days. And many more believed
on account of his own discourse:
42 and said to the woman,
Now we believe, not because of what thou hast
spoken; for we ourselves have heard Him, and know
that this is indeed the note Christ, the Saviour of the
world.
43 And after two days he departed thence, and went
into note Cana of Galilee.
44 For Jesus himself had note testified
that a prophet hath no honor in his own country.

45 And when He was come into Galilee, the Galileans
received Him, having seen all that he did in Jerusalem
at the feast: for they also went to the feast.
46 Therefore
Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where He
had made the water wine.
47 And there was a certain note nobleman, whose son was
sick at Capernaum: note who, when he heard that Jesus
was come out of Judea into Galilee, went to Him, and
intreated Him, that he would come down and heal his
son; for he was note at the point of death.
48 Jesus therefore
said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders ye will
not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto Him, Lord,
come down before my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him,
Go, thy son note is well. And the man believed note what
Jesus said unto him, and went his way.
51 And as he was
now going down, his servants met him and told him,
saying, Thy son note is well.
52 He inquired therefore of them
the hour in which he grew better: and they said unto
him, note Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was in that same hour, in

which Jesus said to him, Thy son note is well. And he
and his whole family believed.
54 This note is the second
miracle that Jesus wrought, upon coming out of Judea
into Galilee.
