In thys Epistle Paul exhorteth Timothe to go forwarde as he hadde begonne, and to preache the Gospell wyth all dylygence, as it was neede seynge many were fallen awaye, and many false spyrytes ∧ teachers were spronge vp all readye. Wherfore a Byshoppes part is, euer to watche and to laboure in the Gospell.

In the thyrde and fourth he sheweth before, ∧ that notablye, of the yeoperdous times toward the ende of the world in whiche a false spyrytuall lyuyng shuld deceyue the whole worlde wyth outwarde hypocrysye, and apparence of holynes, vnder whiche all abhomynacyons shoulde haue theyr fre passage and course, as we (alas) haue sene thys Prophesye of S. Paule fulfylled in oure spyrytualtye to the vttermost Iere. ¶ The second Epistle of S. Paule the Apostle vnto Timothe.
