Tobias prophecyeth the destruccyon of Ninius.
Hys sonne retourneth to Raguell, after the decesse
of hys father and mother.
A And after that Tobias had gotten
his sight again, he liued .xlii
yeares, and sawe his chylders
chyldren. Now wh&ebar; he was an
C. ∧ .ii. yeare olde, he dyed: and
was buried honorably in Niniue. For when
he was sixe ∧ fifty yeares of age, he loste the
sight of hys eyes, ∧ when he was thre score
yeare olde, he gat hys sight agayn. The residue
of hys lyfe led he in ioye, ∧ increased wel
in the feare of God, ∧ departed in peace.
B But in the houre of his death he called vnto
hym his sonne Tobias, ∧ seu&ebar; y&obar;ge springaldes
his sonnes chyldren, and sayde vnto
them: The destruccion of Niniue is at hand,
for the worde of the Lorde can not fayle, and
our brethren that are scatred out of the lande
of Israel, shal come thyther agayne. And the
whole lande of it that hath bene waste, shalbe
filled: and the house of God that was brente
in it, shalbe buylded agayne, and all suche as
feare God shall returne thyther: the Heathen
also shall forsake their Idols, ∧ come to Hierusalem,
∧ dwell there, and all the kynges of
the earth shalbe glad of her, and worship the
Lord God of Israel.
C And therfore my chyldr&ebar;, heare youre father:
Serue the Lorde in faythfulnes, seke after
hys will, and do the thynge that pleaseth
hym. Commaunde your chyldr&ebar; that thei do
right, geue almes, be myndeful of God, and
euer to be thankeful vnto hym in trueth and
with all their power. Heare me therfore my
chyldren, and abide not here: but in what day
soeuer ye haue buryed youre mother besyde
me, get you fr&obar; hence. For I se, that the wyckednesse
of it shal bring it to destruccion and
ende.
D After the death of his mother, Tobias departed
awaye from Niniue, with his wyfe ∧
chyldren, ∧ with his chylders childr&ebar;, ∧ came
agayne to hys father and mother in law, and
founde th&ebar; whole ∧ in a good age, ∧ toke the
care of them. And he closed their eyes, ∧ was
heyre vnto all Raguels goodes, ∧ sawe the
fyfth generacion and chylders chyldren. And
wh&ebar; he was .xcix. yeare of age, he died in the

feare of the Lord, and his kynsfolkes buryed
him. And all his posteritie c&obar;tinued in a good
lyfe, and holy conuersacion: so that thei were
loued and accepted bothe of God and men, ∧
of all the people of the lande.
