to buylde the temple agayne.

of the moneth, came the
worde of the Lorde (by
the Prophete Aggeus)
vnto Zorobabel þe; sonne
of Salathiel the prynce
of Iuda, and to Iesua the sonne of Iosedech
the hye prieste, sayinge: note Thus speaketh the
Lord of hostes, and sayeth: This people doth
saye: The tyme is not yet come to buylde vp
the Lordes house. Then spake the Lord by the
Prophete Aggeus, and sayde: Ye your selues
can fynde tyme to dwell in syled houses, and
shall thys house lye waste? Consydre nowe
B youre owne wayes in youre hertes (sayth the
Lorde of hostes) ye sowe muche, note but ye bryng
lytle in: ye eate, but ye haue not ynoughe: ye
drincke, but ye are not fylled, note ye decke youre
selues, but ye are not warme: and he that earneth
any wage, putteth it in a broken purse.
Thus sayeth the Lorde of hostes: Consydre
your owne wayes in your hertes, get you
vp to the mountayne, fetche wood, and buyld
vp the house,
C that it maye be acceptable vnto
me, and that I maye shewe myne honoure,
sayeth the Lorde. noteYe loked for much, and lo, it
is come to lytle: ∧ thoughe ye bryng it home,
yet do I blowe it awaye. And why so, sayeth
the Lorde of hostes? Euen because that my
house lyeth so waste, and ye runne euery man
vnto hys owne house. noteWherfore the heauen
is forbidden to geue you anye dewe, and the
earthe is forbidden to geue you encrease. I
haue called for a drouthe, both vpon the lande
∧ vpon the mountaynes, note vpon corne, vpon
wyne, ∧ vp&obar; oyle, vpon euery thynge that the
grounde bryngeth forth, vpon men and vpon
catell, yea and vpon all handy laboure.
Now when Zorobabel the sonne of Salathiel,
and Iesua the sonne of Iosedech the hye
priest with the remnaunte of the people,

the voyce of the Lorde theyr God, and þe; wordes
of the Prophete Aggeus (lyke as þe; lorde
theyr God hath sent him) the people dyd fear
the Lorde. Then Aggeus the Lordes angell
sayde in the Lordes message vnto the people:
I am wyth you, sayeth the Lorde. So þe; Lorde
