All these were descendants of Machir father of Gilead. 24   After the death of Hezron, Caleb had intercourse note with Ephrathah note and she bore him Ashhur the founder note of Tekoa.

25   The sons of Jerahmeel eldest son of Hezron by note Ahijah were Ram the eldest, Bunah, Oren and Ozem. 26   Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. 27   The sons of Ram eldest son of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin and Eker. 28   The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. 29   The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur. The name of Abishur's wife was Abihail; she bore him Ahban and Molid. 30   The sons of Nadab: Seled and Ephraim; note Seled died without children. 31    32   Ephraim's son was Ishi, Ishi's son Sheshan, Sheshan's son Ahlai. The sons of Jada brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan; Jether died without children. 33   The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.

34   Sheshan had daughters but no sons. He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha; 35   he gave his daughter in marriage to this Jarha, and she bore him Attai. 36   Attai was the father of Nathan, Nathan father of Zabad, Zabad father of Ephlal, 37    38   Ephlal father of Obed, Obed father of Jehu, Jehu father of Azariah, 39   Azariah father of Helez, Helez father of Elasah,

50   The descendants of Caleb: the sons note of Hur, the eldest son of Ephrathah: 51   Shobal the founder of Kiriath-jearim, Salma the founder of Bethlehem, and Hareph the founder of Beth-gader. 52   Shobal the founder of Kiriath-jearim was the father of Reaiah note and the ancestor of half the Manahethites. note

53   The clans of Kiriath-jearim: Ithrites, Puhites, Shumathites, and Mishraites, from whom were descended the Zareathites and the Eshtaulites.

54   The descendants of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Ataroth, Beth-joab, half the Manahethites, and the Zorites.

55   The clans of Sophrites note living at Jabez: Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These were Kenites note who were connected by marriage with the ancestor of the Rechabites.
