Note return to page 1 After the failure of his musical version of the whole of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Drury Lane on November 23 1763, Colman shortened it to a two-act afterpiece, leaving intact only thirteen of its added songs. It was last seen at Drury Lane in 1767, and was then briefly revived a decade later at the Haymarket before disappearing from the repertory forever.
