Note return to page 1 Talfourd's burlesque of MACBETH was first acted by Oxford undergraduates (among them its author, who played Lady Macbeth) at Henley Regatta in 1847, and was subsequently revived on different occasions in London: in 1853 it was performed at the Olympic Theatre with alterations, recorded by this fourth printed edition, designed to parody Charles Kean's production of MACBETH (and the pedantries of its souvenir edition).
