bookplate is of two silhouettes of seated man on right side and seated
woman on left side. The man is seated in a adjustable, reclining
armchair, smoking a pipe and reading a book held in his lap. A number
of books are on the floor next to or beneath the man's chair. The woman
is seated in an armchair and appears to be knitting. An occasional
table (or end table) with visible drawer handles stands in the middle of
the image, between the seated man and woman, with a vase of flowers and
other items on it. Handwritten captions appear below these images. The
second bookplate is a simple white rectangle that is framed with what
looks like the tops of a fence. In the center, in Gothic script, is the
name George S. T. Oliver.[end figure description]
