Note return to page 1 Sheridan's version of CORIOLANUS, which was performed frequently at Covent Garden between 1754 and 1768, is a hybrid of Shakespeare's play and James Thomson's 1749 play on the same subject, which provides much of the material that makes up its last three acts.
