1 Therfore if &yogh;e han risun to gidere with
Crist, `seke &yogh;e tho thingis that ben aboue,

2 Sauere, `or vndirstonde, &yogh;e tho
thingis that ben aboue, not tho that ben
vpon the erthe.
3 Forsoth &yogh;e ben deede,
and &yogh;oure lyf is hid with Crist in God.
4 Forsothe whanne Crist schal appere,
&yogh;oure lyf, thanne and &yogh;e schulen appeere
with him in glorie.
5 Therfore sle &yogh;e &yogh;oure
membris, the whiche ben on the erthe,
fornycacioun, vnclennesse, leccherie, yuel
couetyse, and auarice, the which is seruage
of symylacris;
6 for whiche thingis the
wraththe of God cam vpon the sones of
vnbileue;
7 in the whiche and &yogh;e walkiden
sumtyme, whanne &yogh;e lyueden in hem.
8 `Now forsoth and `&yogh;e putte awey alle
thingis, wraththe, indignacioun, malice,

the olde man with his deedis,

Jew, circumcisioun and prepucie, barbar

12 Therfore clothe &yogh;ou, as the chosun
of God, and hooly, and the loued `of
God, the entrailis of mercy, benygnite,
and mekenesse, temperaunce, and pacience;
supportinge,
13 `or beringe vp to gidere,
and &yogh;yuynge to &yogh;ou silf, if ony man
a&yogh;ens any hath `querel, or pleynt; as and
the Lord Crist &yogh;af to &yogh;ou, so and &yogh;e.
14 Forsoth vpon alle thes thingis haue &yogh;e
charite, that is the bond of perfeccioun.
15 And the pees of Crist enioye in &yogh;oure
hertis, in the which and &yogh;e ben clepid in
o body, and `be &yogh;e kynde, `or fre of good

16 The word of Crist dwelle

18 Wymmen, be

19 Men, loue &yogh;e &yogh;oure
wyues, and nyle &yogh;e be bitter to hem.
20 Sones, obeye &yogh;e to fadir `and modir
by alle thingis; forsothe this is wel plesynge
to the Lord.
21 Fadris, nyle &yogh;e terre
&yogh;oure sones to indignacioun, that thei be
not maad of litel ynwitt, `or resoun.
22 Seruauntis, obeye &yogh;e by alle thingis to
fleischly lordis, not seruynge at y&yogh;e, as
plesynge to men, but in symplenesse of
herte, dredinge the Lord.
23 What euere
&yogh;e don, worche &yogh;e of ynwitt, as to the
Lord and not to men;
24 witinge that of
the Lord &yogh;e schulen take `retribucioun, or
&yogh;eldinge a&yogh;en, of heritage. Serue &yogh;e to
the Lord Crist.
25 Forsoth he that doth iniurie,
`or wrong, schal resseyue that
that he dide yuele; and accepcioun of
persoones is not anentis God.
