1 The Lord spak to Moyses, seiynge,
2 Mak to thee two beten out silueren
trompes, with the whiche thow mayst
clepe togidere the multitude, whanne the
tentis ben to be meued.
3 And whanne thow
sownest with thi trompes, al the folk shal
be gederid `to thee at the dore of the
tabernacle of the boond of pees.
4 If onys
thow sownest, shulen come to thee the
princes and the heedis of the multitude
of Irael;
5 if forsothe lenger and stowndmeel
trompynge sowne, the firste, that ben
at the eest plage, shulen meue the tentis.
6 In the secounde forsothe sownynge and
euen &yogh;ollynge of the trompe, shulen rere
the tentys that dwellen at the sowth;
and aftir this maner that other shulen
doo, &yogh;ollynge the trompes into weendynge
forthe.
7 Whanne forsothe the puple is to
gederynge togidre, shal be symple criynge
of trompes, and not stowndmeel thei shulen
&yogh;olle.
8 The sones of Aaron preest
shulen sowne with the trompes, and this
shal be lawful euerlastynge in &yogh;oure generaciouns.
9 If &yogh;e goon out to batayle fro
&yogh;oure loond a&yogh;ens the enemyes that stryuen
a&yogh;ens &yogh;ow, &yogh;e shulen crye with &yogh;ollynge
trompes, and it shal be recordynge
of &yogh;ow before the Lord &yogh;our God, that
&yogh;e ben delyuerid fro the hondes of &yogh;oure
enemyes.
10 And if eny tyme &yogh;e shulen
haue meetship, and feeste daies, and kalendes,
&yogh;e shulen synge with trompes
vpon the brent sacrifices and the pesible
sleyn sacrifices, that thei ben to &yogh;ow into
recordynge of &yogh;oure God; Y the Lord
&yogh;oure God.
11 The secounde &yogh;eer, the secounde
moneth, the twentithe day of the
moneth, the clowd rered vp fro the tabernacle
of the boond of pees.
12 And the
sones of Yrael ben goon forthe bi her

companyes, fro the deseert of Synay;
and the clowd restyde in the wildernes
of Pharan.
13 And the first meueden tentes,
after the heest of the Lord doon in the
hoond of Moyses,
14 the sones of Juda bi
her companyes, of whom the prince was
Naason, the sone of Amynadab.
15 In the
lynage of the sones of Ysachar prince
was Nathanael, the sone of Suar.
16 In the
lynage of Zabulon prince was Heliab, the
sone of Helon.
17 And the tabernacle is sett
down, the which berynge wenten out the
sones of Gerson, and of Merarye.
18 And
the sones of Ruben wenten forthe bi
companyes in her ordre, whos prince was
Elisur, the sone of Sedeur.
19 In the lynage
forsothe of the sones of Symeon prince
was Salamyel, the sone of Surysadday.
20 Forsothe in the lynage of Gad was prynce
Helisaphat, the sone of Duel.
21 And wenten
forthe the Caatthites, berynge the seyntuarie;
as longe the tabernacle was bore,
to the tyme that thei camen to the rerynge
place.
22 And the sones of Effraym
meueden tentis, by her companyes, in
whos oost prince was Elizama, the sone
of Amyud.
23 In the lynage forsothe of the
sones of Manasse prynce was Gamaliel,
the sone of Phadassur.
24 And in the lynage
of Beniamyn duke was Abidan, the
sone of Gedeon.
25 Laste of alle the tentes
wenten forthe the sones of Dan, bi her
companyes, in whos oost prynce was Aiezer,
the sone of Amysadday.
26 In the
lynage forsothe of the sones of Aser
prynce was Phegiel, the sone of Ochran.
27 And in the lynage of the sones of Neptalym
prince was Ahira, the sone of Henan.
28 These ben the tentes and the goyngis
forthe of the sones of Yrael, bi her companyes,
whanne thei wenten out.
29 And
Moyses seide to Heliab, the sone of Raguel
Madianyte, his cosyn, We goon
forthe to the place that the Lord is to
&yogh;yuynge to vs; com with vs, that we

30 To whom
he answerde, I shal not goo with thee,
but I shal turne a&yogh;en into my loond, in
the which Y am bore.
31 And he, Wole
thow not, he seith, vs forsaak; thow forsothe
hast knowe in what places bi deseert
we owen to sette tentes, and thow
shalt be oure leder;
32 and whanne thow
comyst with vs, what thing best were of
the ritchessis that the Lord is to &yogh;yuynge
to vs, we shulen &yogh;yue to thee.
33 Thanne
thei wenten forthe fro the mownt of the
Lord, weie of thre daies; and the arke
of the boond of pees of the Lord wente
before hem, bi three daies, purueiynge
the place of the tentes.
34 And the clowd
of the Lord was vpon hem bi the day,
whanne thei shulden goon.
35 And whanne
the arke shulde be arered, Moyses seide,
Aryse, Lord, and be scateryd thin enemyes,
and flee&yogh; thei fro thi face that
haten thee;
36 whanne forsothe it was sette
down, he seide, Torn a&yogh;en, Lord, to the
multitude of the oost of Yrael.
