`And so,
1 britheren, I biseche &yogh;ou by
the mercy of God, that &yogh;e &yogh;yue &yogh;oure bodyes
a lyuynge oost, `or sacrifice, hooly,
plesynge to God, &yogh;oure seruyce resonable.
And nyle &yogh;e be confoormed,
2 `or maad lyk,
to this world, but `be &yogh;e refoormed in
newenesse of &yogh;oure witt, that &yogh;e proue
which is the wille of God, good, and wel
plesynge, and parfyt.
3 Forsoth I seie, bi
the grace that is &yogh;ouun to me, to alle
that ben among &yogh;ou, for to not sauere,
`or kunne, more than it behoueth for to
kunne, but for to kunne to sobrenesse;
and to ech man, as God hath departid the
mesure of feith.
4 Forsoth as in oo body we
han many membris, sothli alle the membris
han not the same acte,
5 `or dede; so
we `ben manye oo body in Crist, ech forsothe
membris `the tother of an other.
Therfore hauynge &yogh;iftis dyuersinge,
6 vp
grace that is &yogh;ouun to vs, ether prophesie,
vp resoun of feith;
7 ether mynisterie, `or
seruyce, in mynistringe; ether he that
techith,
8 in techinge; he that stireth softly,
in exhortacioun, `or monestinge; he
that &yogh;yueth, in symplenesse; he that is
byfore, `or souereyn, in bisynesse; he
that hath mercy, in gladnesse.
9 Loue
with oute feynynge, hatynge yuel, cleuynge,
`or faste drawynge, to good
thing;
10 louynge to gidere the charite of

honour,
11 not slow in bisynesse, feruent,
`or brennynge, in spirit, seruynge to the
Lord,
12 ioyinge in hope, pacient in tribulacioun,

hospitalite, `that is, herboringe of
pore men.
14 Blesse &yogh;e men pursuynge
&yogh;ou; blesse &yogh;e, and nyle &yogh;e curse, `or
warie;
15 for to ioye with men ioyinge,
for to wepe with men wepinge;
16 feelynge
the same thing to gidere; not sauerynge,
`or kunnynge, hi&yogh;e thingis, but consentynge
to meke thingis. Nyle &yogh;e be prudent
anentis &yogh;ou silf;
17 to no man &yogh;eldinge
yuel for yuel, purueyinge goode thingis,
not oonly bifore God, but also bifore alle
men.
18 If it may be don, that that is of &yogh;ou,
hauynge pees with alle men.
19 &YOGH;e moost
dereworthe britheren, not defendynge, `or
vengynge, &yogh;ou silf, but `&yogh;yue &yogh;e place to
ire, `or wraththe; forsoth it is writun,
The Lord seith, To me veniaunce, and I
schal &yogh;elde a&yogh;en.
20 But if thin enemye
`schal hungre, feede thou him; if he
thirstith, &yogh;yue thou drynke to hym; forsothe
thou doynge `thes thingis schalt
gidere to gedre colis on his heed.
21 Nyle
thou be ouercome of yuel thing, but ouercome
thou yuel thing in good thing.
