1 Heere &yogh;e, hous of Yrael, this word,

2 The
meyden of Yrael felle doun, she shal not
put to, that she rijse a&yogh;ein; she is cast
doun in to hir erthe, ther is not that shal
reyse hir.
3 For these thingus saith the
Lord God, The cite of whiche a thousand
wenten out, an hundrid shuln be
left theryne; and of whiche an hundrid
wenten out, ten shuln be left therynne, in
the hous of Yrael.
4 For these thingis seith
the Lord to the hous of Israel, Seeke &yogh;e
me, and &yogh;e shulen lyue;
5 and nyle &yogh;e
seeke Bethel, and in to Galgala nyle &yogh;e
entre, and into Bersabe passe &yogh;e not; for
Galgal schal be led caityf, and Bethel shal
be vnprofitable.
6 Seeke &yogh;e the Lord, and
lyue &yogh;e, lest per auenture the hous of
Joseph be brent as fijre; and it shal deuoure,
and ther shal not be, that shal
quenche Bethel.
7 Whiche conuerten dom
in to wermod, and forsaken ri&yogh;twijsnesse
of the Lord in erthe,
8 and makynge Arture

and Orion, and turnynge in to morewnyng
dercknessis, and chaungynge
day `in to ni&yogh;t; whiche clepith waters of
the see, and heeldith out hem on the face
of the erthe; the Lord is name of hym.
9 Whiche scorneth distruyinge, or waastnesse,
on the stronge, and bringith robbyng
on the mi&yogh;ty.
10 Thei hadden in hate
the repreuynge man in the &yogh;ate, and thei
wlatiden a man spekynge perfitly.
11 Therfore
for that that &yogh;e robbiden the pore
man, and token fro hym the chosen pray,
&yogh;e shuln beelde housis with sqware stoon,
and &yogh;e shuln not dwelle in hem; &yogh;e shuln
plante most amyable vyne &yogh;erdis, and &yogh;e
shuln not drinke the wyne of hem.
12 For
Y knewe &yogh;our manye grete trespassis,
and &yogh;our strong synnes; enmyes of the
iust, takynge &yogh;iftis, and beringe doun pore
men in the &yogh;ate.
13 Therfore a prudent
man in that tyme shal be stille, for the
tyme is yuel.
14 Seke &yogh;e good, and not yuel,
that &yogh;e lyue, and the Lord God of oostis
shal be with &yogh;ou, as &yogh;e saiden.
15 Hate &yogh;e
yuel, and loue &yogh;e good, and ordeyne &yogh;e in
the &yogh;ate dom; &yogh;if per auenture the Lord
God of oostus haue mercye to the relikis
of Joseph.
16 Therfore these thingus saith
the Lord God of oostis, hauynge lordship,
In alle stretis weylynge, and in alle
thingus that ben with outforth `it shal
be said, Wo! wo! and thei shuln cleepe
an erthe tilier to mournyng, and hem to
weylyng, that kunnen weyle.
17 And in alle
weyes weylyng shal be, for Y shal passe
by the mydil of thee, saith the Lord.
18 Wo to men desirynge the day of the
Lord; wher to it to &yogh;ou? This day of the
Lord dercknessis, and not li&yogh;t.
19 Hou &yogh;if a
man renne fro face of a lyoun, and a
bere renne to hym; and he entre in the
hous, and lene with his hond vpon the
walle, and a serpent dwellynge in shadewe
byte hym.
20 Wher not dercknessis

the day of the Lord, and not li&yogh;t; and
myst, and not shynyng therynne?
21 Y
hatide and castide awey &yogh;oure feest days,
and Y shal not take the odour of &yogh;our
cumpanyes.
22 That &yogh;if &yogh;e shuln offre to
me &yogh;our brent sacrifices, and &yogh;iftis, Y
shal not resceyue, and Y shal not byholde
avowis of &yogh;our fat thingus.
23 Do
awey fro me the noyse of thi songis, or
ditees, and Y shal not heere the songis
of thin harpe.
24 And dom shal be shewid
as water, and ri&yogh;twysnesse as a strong
streem of reyn.
25 Wher &yogh;e offriden to
me oostis, and sacrifice in desert fourty
&yogh;eeris, &yogh;e hous of Yrael?
26 And &yogh;e han
born tabernaclis to Moloch, &yogh;our god, and
ymage of &yogh;oure ydolis, the sterre of &yogh;our
god, whiche &yogh;e maden to &yogh;ou.
27 And Y
shal make &yogh;ou for to passe ouer Damask,
saide the Lord; God of oostis name to
hym.
