1 `Symon, Onyes sone, the grete prest,

6 As the morutid sterre in myddel of the
litle cloude, and as the fulle moone in his

7 and as the shynende
sunne, so he shyneth out in the temple
of God;
8 as the a&yogh;enshynende bowe betwene
the litle cloudis of glorie, and as
the flour of roses in the da&yogh;es of ver, and
as lilies, that ben in goyngus of water,
and as cense smellende in the da&yogh;es of
somyr;
9 as fyr shynende out, and sens
brennende in fyr;
10 as a massee vessel of
gold, enourned with alle maner precious
ston;
11 as a buriounende olyue, and cipresse
in to hei&yogh;te puttende out itself;
in takynge hym the stoele of glorie, and
to be clad hym in the ful endyng of
vertue.
12 In the ste&yogh;yng vp of the hoely

13 In takynge forsothe partes of the
hond of prestes, and he stondende biside

Aron in ther glorie.
15 The offring forsothe
of the Lord in the hondis of hem,
biforn al the gedering of Irael; and the
ful endyng vsyng in to the auter, to
make large the offring of the he&yogh;e king,
16 he stra&yogh;te out his hond in the sacrifiyng
of likoures; and he sacrifiede in the blod
of a grape.
17 He helde out in the foundement
of the auter, godly smel to the he&yogh;e
prince.
18 Thanne crieden out the sonus of
Aron; in beten out trumpes thei souneden,
and herd thei maden a gret vois in
to the mynde bifor God.
19 Thanne al the
puple togidere wenten forth, and fellen
in to the face vp on the erthe, to honoure
the Lord ther God, and to &yogh;yue
pre&yogh;eeres to the almy&yogh;ty he&yogh;e God.
20 And
thei largeden synging in ther voises; and
in the grete hous is mad a vois ful of
swetnesse.
21 And the puple pre&yogh;ede the
he&yogh;e Lord in pre&yogh;ere, vn to the tyme that
ful don is the honour of the Lord, and
his &yogh;ifte thei parformeden.
22 Thanne comende
doun, his hondis he putte out in to
al the congregacioun of the sonus of Irael,
to &yogh;yue glorie to God of his lippes, and
in his name to glorien.
23 And he rehercede
his orisoun, willende to shewe the vertue
of God.
24 And aftir eft more he pre&yogh;ede
the God of alle, that grete thingus dide in
al erthe; that encreside oure da&yogh;es fro
the wombe of oure moder, and dide with
vs aftir his mercy.
25 &YOGH;yue he to vs inward
io&yogh;e of herte, and to be mad pes in oure
da&yogh;es in Irael bi euere lastende da&yogh;es;
Irael to leeuen,
26 with vs to ben the mercy
of God, that he deliuere them in ther
da&yogh;es.
27 Two folkis hateth my soule; the
thridde forsothe is, that noon more folc

28 That sitten in the hil of
Seir, and Filisteym, and the fool puple,
that dwellith in Sichemys.
29 The doctrine
of wisdam, and of disciplyne wrot in this
boc Jhesus, the sone of Sirac, Jerosolomytane;
that renewede the wisdam of
his herte.
30 Blisful that in these goodus
abit; that putteth tho thingus in his
herte, wys shal ben euermor.
31 If forsothe
these thingus he shul do, to alle
thingus he shal ben my&yogh;ty; for the li&yogh;t
of God is the step of hym.
