1   Be ye followers of me, as I also am of Christ.

2   Now I praise you, ^note brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the orders, as I delivered them to you. 3   But I would have you know, ^note that the head of the woman is the man, and the head of every man is Christ, and the head of Christ is God. 4   Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered, dishonoureth his head. ^note 5   But every woman ^note praying or prophesying with her head uncovered, dishonoureth her head; for it is the same as if she were shaved. 6   Therefore if a woman is not covered, ^note let her also be shaved: but if it be shameful, for a woman to have her hair shaved off, or cut short, let her be covered. 7   A man indeed ought not to ^note have his head covered, being the image and

glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man. 8   For the man is not ^note of the woman, but the woman of the man. 9   Neither was the man created for the sake of the woman, but the woman for the sake of the man. 10   For this cause also the woman ought to ^note have a veil upon her head, because of the angels. 11   Nevertheless ^note neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man, in the Lord. 12   And as the woman was ^note of the man, so also the man is by the woman; but all things are of God. 13   Judge of yourselves: ^note is it decent for a woman to pray to God uncovered? 14   Doth not nature itself teach you, that for a man to have long hair, ^note is a disgrace to him? 15   Whereas for a woman to have long hair, is a glory to her; for her hair was given her ^note instead of a veil. 16   But if any one be contentious, we have no such custom, ^note neither the churches of God.

17   But in this which I declare, I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. 18   For first, when ye come together in the church, ^note I hear there are schisms among you, (and I partly believe

it. 19   For there must be heresies ^note also among you, that the approved among you may be manifest). 20   Therefore ^note when ye come together into one place, it is not eating the Lord's supper. 21   For in eating ^note every one taketh before another his own supper, and one is hungry, another drinks largely. 22   What! have ye not houses to eat and to drink ^note in? or do ye despise the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? 23   I praise you not. For I received ^note from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus the night in which he was betrayed, 24   took bread, And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat, this is my body, which is broken for you; ^note do this in remembrance of me. 25   In like manner also he took the cup after he had supped, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: do this as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. ^note 26   Therefore as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye shew forth the Lord's death, ^note till he come. 27   So that whosoever shall eat the bread and drink the cup of the Lord unworthily, ^note shall be guilty of the body and

blood of the Lord. 28   Therefore let a man examine himself, ^note and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29   For he that eateth and drinketh ^note unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not distinguishing the Lord's body. 30   For this cause ^note many are sick and weak among you, and many sleep. 31   For if we would judge ourselves, ^note we should not be judged. 32   But when we are ^note judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. 33   Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait one for another. 34   And if any one be hungry, let him eat at home, that ye come not together to condemnation. And the rest ^note I will set in order when I come.
