1   Seeing then Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind: note 2   (for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin) That ye

may no longer live the rest of your time in the flesh, note to the desire of men, but to the will of God. 3   For the time past of your life sufficeth to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when ye walked in lasciviousness, evil desires, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, note and abominable idolatries. 4   Wherein they think it strange, that ye run not with them to the same note excess of riot, 5   speaking evil of you, Who shall give account note to him that is ready judge17Q0386 the living and the dead. 6   For to this end was the gospel preached note to them that are dead also, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the Spirit. 7   But the end of all things note is at hand; be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8   And above all things, have fervent love to each other; for love will cover a multitude of sins. note 9   Use hospitality one to another note without grudging. 10   As every one hath received a gift, note so minister it one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11   If any man speak, let him note speak as the oracles

of God: if any man minister, let him minister as of the ability which God giveth, that God in all things may be glorified thro' Jesus Christ, whose is the glory and the might for ever and ever. Amen.

12   Beloved, wonder not at the burning which is among you, note which is for your trial, as if some strange thing befell you: But as ye partake of the sufferings of Christ, note 13   rejoice, that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may likewise rejoice with exceeding great joy. 14   If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, note happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil-spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15   But let none of you note suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other mens matters, 16   Yet if any suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God note on this behalf. 17   For the time is come for judgment to begin at the house of God: note but if it begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18   And if the note righteous scarcely be saved, note where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19   Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God, note commit the keeping of their souls to him in well-doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
