1   I charge thee therefore ^note before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the quick and dead at his appearing and his kingdom, Preach the word; 2   be instant ^note in season, out of season; convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching. 3   For ^note the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine, but will heap to themselves teachers, according to their own desires, having itching ears. 4   And they will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables. 5   But watch ^note thou in all things, endure affliction, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. 6   For I am now ready to be offered up, and the time of my departure is at hand. ^note 7   I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8   Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of ^note righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge will render me in that day, and not to me only, but to all them likewise that have loved his appearing.

9    10   Do thy diligence to come to me ^note shortly. For Demas ^note hath forsaken me, loving the present world, and is gone to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. 11   Only Luke ^note is with me. Take Mark and bring him with thee, for he is profitable to me for service. 12   Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. 13   When thou comest, bring the cloak ^note which I left at Troas with Carpus, and the books, especially the parchments. 14   Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil; the Lord will reward him ^note according to his works. 15   Of whom be thou also aware; for he hath greatly withstood our words. 16   At my first defence no man was with me, but all ^note forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge? 17   But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the preaching ^note might be fully known, even that all nations might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18   And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, ^note and preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever, and ever. 19   Amen. Salute Aquila and Priscilla and the family of Onesiphorus. 20   Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus I have left at Miletus sick. ^note 21   Do thy diligence to come before winter.
