Note return to page 1 There is evidence to suggest that Kemble at one stage planned to revive Shakespeare's play in its original form, but in the event his spectacular production at Covent Garden in 1813 used this text, a hybrid of Shakespeare's play and Dryden's ALL FOR LOVE. The adaptation is often attributed to George Colman the younger.
