Note return to page 1 The Reverend James Miller's impeccably respectable adaptation, which is in fact a hybrid of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and Molière's LA PRINCESSE D'ELIDE, was performed at Drury Lane in 1737 and 1741 before the theatre's management followed Covent Garden's lead in reviving Shakespeare's original play.
